The annual meeting is coming up, and KZINE needs your voice to be heard! It is now time to apply to the KZINE board, and take over the Media Association of Kungsholmens Gymnasium. Do you want to influence the thoughts of 1500 students, write articles, make radio programs, take photos or do you just like attention? If your answer to at least one of the above is “yes”, the KZINE board is the right place for you.
How do I run for a position?
In order to make sure you will be offered an interview with the nomination committee, you must send your application to valberedning@kzine.se before February 18th. Your application should contain the following:
- Your name
- The position you are running for
- Why you are running for that position in particular
- If you have any previous experience in the field (e.g. activity in associations, leadership positions, journalism)
- What makes you the best candidate for this position
- What you would do if you were the autocratic dictator of KZINE (totally hypothetical situation)
- Something personal
This year the KZINE board will suggest adding one post to the board: Radio Manager. Apart from this we will not suggest any changes to the structure of the board. The positions available are listed below, so give the descriptions a read and figure out which one’s perfect for you!
President
Even though you might not have same amount of power as Barack Obama, you will still be seen as the one in charge. If you are a natural leader and are ready to have great responsibility on your shoulders, there is nothing stopping you from running for President.
Swedish Editor-in-Chief
Do you have a great grasp of the Swedish language, an interest in journalism and the ability to manage a team of talented journalists? The title of Swedish Editor-in-Chief belongs to a skilled journalist who can also handle being a leader.
English Editor-in-Chief
If you constantly correct your friends’ grammar, are fluent in English and like leading journalists in the fight for great journalism, this position is the one for you! And just because KZINE is based in Sweden doesn’t mean the English position is undermined – even if you work side by side with the Swedish editor, it is safe to say that we all know that English is the cooler language in our bilingual network.
Webmaster
As the Webmaster of KZINE you will probably be the most powerful person at Kungsholmen. You will be in charge of the website, which is the core of KZINE, and everyone will always respect you because they know what you’re capable of (and don’t understand code anyway).
Picture Editor
You are the artistic part of the board, with the rare knowledge of knowing how to make KZINE’s pictures look profile picture-worthy. With a camera in one hand and KZINE’s Instagram feed in the other, you see everything that goes on at Kungsholmen. Take the lead and become KZINE’s resident creative visionary/“Big Brother”.
Financial Manager
Money makes the world go round, and you know how to get it. Being able to handle money without going mad is an art form in itself, but as Voltaire and Peter Parker said, “with great power comes great responsibility”… meaning that you must restrain yourself from revealing that the Student Union is buying a bubble machine for 50 000 kr while simultaneously buying a printer for 100 000 kr. In conclusion, if you can handle the responsibility of being the Financial Manager you should apply right away.
Secretary
You look up from your computer, take a sip of coffee and smile. Everyone loves you because of the great work you do, but at the same time you’ve got them all in your pocket. Don’t be fooled by the myth about the position’s lack of power: guess who else started out as Secretary? Stalin.
Radio Manager
Radio may be 100 years old, but it still feels fresh! As Radio Manager it’s your responsibility to make to make people’s voices heard in the form of everything from silly podcasts to serious debating programs. However, don’t expect to be able to handle everything by yourself, the Radio Manager is a team player. So one of the first things you’ll probably want to do is recruit your own awesome Radio Team.

Årsmötet börjar närma sig, och nya röster behöver nu höras. Det är dags att kandidera till KZINEs styrelse och ta över Kungsholmens Gymnasiums mediaförening. Vill du influera elevernas tankar, skriva artiklar, göra radio, ta foton eller gillar du bara att få uppmärksamhet? Då är styrelsen det rätta stället för dig.
Hur kandiderar jag?
Alla personer kan kandidera fram till årsmötet, men för att vara säker på att du får en intervju med valberedingen behöver du skicka din kandidatur till valberedning@kzine.se innan 11 februari. Din kandidatur bör innehålla följande:
- Ditt namn
- Vilken post du kandiderar till
- Varför du kandiderar
- Om du har några tidigare erfarenheter
- Varför du skulle passa på den här posten
- Vad du skulle göra ifall du var den enväldiga diktatorn över KZINE
- Något personligt
Det här året kommer styrelsen lägga fram som förslag till årsmötet att posten Radioansvarig ska tillsättas till styrelsen. Utöver det kommer styrelsen vara oförändrad, vilket betyder att du kan kandidera till följande poster:
Föreningsordförande
Du ska nog inte beskriva dig själv som allsmäktig, men kom ihåg att det är dig folk ser som chef. Om du är en naturlig ledare som är redo att ha ett stort ansvar på dina axlar, då är ordförande posten för dig.
Engelsk chefredaktör
Om du har bra kunskaper inom det engelska språket, är intresserad av journalistik och tror att du kan leda en redaktion, varför är inte du engelsk chefredaktör redan nu? Du är trots allt den perfekta kombinationen av journalist och ledare.
Svensk chefredaktör
Vi vet alla att svenskan är lite vackrare än engelskan. Så även om du arbetar sida vid sida med den engelska chefredaktören så kommer du alltid veta vem som är vackrare.
Webbansvarig
Som webbansvarig är du antagligen den mäktigaste personen på Kungsholmen. Ditt främsta ansvar är hemsidan, vilket är kärnan i KZINE, och alla kommer alltid visa dig sin fulla respekt, utan att riktigt veta hur långt dina krafter sträcker sig.
Ekonomiansvarig
Vad de andra än försöker intala sig så vet du sanningen; pengar är det enda som betyder något. Att ha hand om pengar utan att bli galen är en konstform, men du klarar det eftersom du vet att du inte kan avslöja att elevkåren köpt en bubbelmaskin för 50 000 kr om du samtidigt låter KZINE köpa en skrivare för 100 000 kr. Känner du dig träffad? Kan du hantera KZINEs ekonomi och se till att pengarna fortsätter flöda in? I så fall finns det inget som hindrar dig från att söka till posten som ekonomiansvarig!
Sekreterare
Du kollar upp från dator, dricker lite kaffe från din kopp och ler. Alla älskar dig på grund av ditt fantastiska jobb, men du vet att de alla egentligen är i din makt. Tro inte att det här är en maktlös post, du vet väl vem mer som startade som sekreterare? Stalin…
Radioansvarig
Radio är en ungefär hundra år gammal mediaplattform som känns jättemodern! Som radioansvarig är det ditt ansvar att bokstavligen göra folks röster hörda i form av allt från löjliga podcasts till seriösa debattprogram. Det är också redan nu dags att inse att du inte kommer kunna göra allt jobb ensam, utan att som radioansvarig måste du vara en ”team player”. En av de första sakerna du kommer vilja göra blir helt enkelt att rekrytera din egna grymma radiogrupp.
