Starting at Kungsholmen is no laughing matter. All of a sudden you’re surrounded by a bunch of bright students who seem to like nothing more than to casually excel in every subject, do triathlons in their free time and manage a crazy partying alter-ego. Don’t worry; it’s all a sham! Well, not quite.
It’s not all doom and gloom. It’s fine once you get used to it. Soon you’ll be laughing about that time you stayed up all night cramming for the stoichiometry test. You’ll be reminiscing about Insparksfesten, the night which passed like a blur for all the right reasons. And you’ll be condemning Jan Björklund with a colourful trilingual vocabulary. But until then, you’ve got to survive. And we’ve no doubt that you will.
You’re about to get to know a charismatic cast of classmates and teachers, and get your teeth into enormous, scary-looking textbooks. But don’t worry, there will be plenty of delightful distractions to help you along the way, such as the watery coffee in the café, and the helpful yet slightly intimidating caretakers.
But now to the most important part of your time at KG. You can’t call yourself a hamburger unless you contain horse. And you can’t call yourself a Kungsholmer unless you read KZINE. That’s right. KZINE is Kungsholmen’s online magazine run by a bunch of notoriously enthusiastic students, ceaselessly keeping you up-to-date with the latest news from Kungsholmen and beyond. It’s what we like to unpretentiously call the best magazine in the world. So visit us at www.kzine.se and add us on Facebook (see footer) to get started!
The days of mastering Swenglish, finding out how nuance holds the key to a brighter future, and learning to BS your way through anything and everything are about to begin. Hold on tight. It’s going to be a rough journey, but probably the best journey of your life. And don’t forget to read KZINE!
